Norkum replaces and installs rooftop units and central air for commercial buildings across the North Shore and Greater Boston — sized, set, rigged, and commissioned. A well-maintained commercial RTU lasts 15–20 years; on the salt-air North Shore, expect closer to 10–12 without the right specs and care, so getting the replacement right matters.
We pre-stage curbs and adapters so a unit swap can often happen in a single crane day, coordinate the rigging, and commission the unit — including the cold-climate details that get skipped on generic installs.

Greater Boston & the North Shore
Set right for a New England roof
Curb adapters let a new RTU drop onto the existing roof opening without re-cutting the deck — one crane day instead of a multi-day structural job. We coordinate the lift and size the unit to code: Massachusetts commercial code requires economizers on larger rooftop cooling systems, and they have to be commissioned correctly.
Cold-climate commissioning is where reliability is won or lost — verifying economizer low-limit lockout so freezing outdoor air never enters the airstream, testing frost protection, and sealing curb gaskets against winter moisture. On coastal buildings we can spec coil coatings to slow salt corrosion and add years of service.
